• Neonatal nurses: These are registered nurses certified to care for premature babies. They provide breastfeeding support to visiting and feeding mothers in the intensive care units. 
• Nurse Practitioners: Nurse Practitioners make more decisions about treatment, etc. they earn certifications in areas such as intensive care, family medicine, and pediatrics. 

Qualities of a Good Nurse

How become a nurse? 

• To become a registered nurse in India, one must take a nursing course at an institute accredited by the Nursing Board of India.
• Choose an appropriate nursing course: B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, General and Midwifery Nursing, Nursing Assistants and Midwives. 
• Pass the academic eligibility criteria of the respective course.

B.Sc. Nursing: 50% Score 10+2 in PCB Science from an accredited board.

Post B.Sc. Basic Nursing: Score 10+2 from an accredited board and GNM certificate from an accredited institute. The applicant must also be registered as an RNRM with the National Register of Nurses. 

• GNM: 10+2 is adopted in any field (science field preferred with PCB subjects) or registered as an ANM with the national register of nurses 
• ANM: 10+2 from a well-known board. 
• After obtaining the supplement, complete the study program. 
• Register with the relevant nursing registry office B.Sc., B.Sc. in Basic Nursing and Post-Nursing students can register as a Registered Nurse with their State Board of Nursing Registration.
• Students approved for GNM can apply for an RNRM through their State Board of Nursing Registration.
• Students who are approved by the ANM can register as an ANM with their State Register of Nursing.
